Our friendly Service Manager, Gary Barr at  Surf City Nissan  has once again explained to me the importance of another basic maintenance tip for our vehicles. 

This Top Vehicle Maintenance 101 tip is all about  WINDSHIELD CARE.

Did you know that 90% of all driving decisions are based on a clear,unobstructed view of the road?

Here are some basic tips to ensure that your windshield does it's job and your vehicle's visibility is optimal!

REPLACE YOUR WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES EVERY 6 - 12 MONTHS. This is excellent maintenance and will contribute to driving visibility.

CHECK WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES FOR WEAR. Inspect wiper for signs of wear, such as cracked, ragged, torn or jagged edges. When wipers are worn they become flimsy and cannot effectively remove water from your windshield.

FILL WINDSHIELD FLUID RESERVOIR. Check your owner's manual to locate its washer fluid reservoir and then top it off. Each washer fluid has a certain percentage of alcohol in it to help clean bugs from your windshield and to ensure fluid air dries quickly.

CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELD.Although this step seems easy and uncomplicated, the importance of a clean windshield is often overlooked. Be sure to use a streak-free solvent and remember to clean inside and out.
